K. of C. to Honor Former Leader
  PIEDMONT -- The Knights
of Columbus of Alameda and
Contra Costa counties will
honor James A. Mangiapane,
first president of the Diocese
of Oakland Council [sic] at a 7:30
p.m. Saturday banquet at Cor-
pus Christi School, Park Bou-
levard and St. James Drive.
  John L. O'Sullivan is gener-
al chairmman of the event.
Francis X. Driscoll of Dan-
ville, state secretary, will be
the principal speaker.
