ACTOR HONORED BY COLUMBUS KNIGHTS
---
Frank Keenan, the famous actor, now at the Oakland Orpheum, was a guest of honor last night at a banquet, given by the local council of the Knights of Columbus. The knights were entertained by Keenan after the banquet. He delivered a witty speech, discussing the various phases of the Catholic order and its usefulness throughout the land. Keenan is a prominent member of the original council of the Knights of Columbus in New York when the order was first founded, and is regarded as one of its most valued and honored members.

The Knights of Columbus Oakland, Alameda and Berkeley have arranged to attend the Orpheum theater in a body tonight, as a compliment to Keenan and his play, "Man to Man." Special arrangements will be made by the Orpheum management for their comfort and convenience, and some features now down on the ordinary program will be provided to add to the affair.

The personal expenses of Columbus and his officers were about 2,000 pesetas and six pesetas a month sufficed for the crew, so that 22,000 pesetas or about $4,400 [...]
